I am so excited, my family and I are headed on our first Disney Cruise to celebrate my daughter’s 9th birthday. We have been to Walt Disney World many times – so much so that I was honored to be a Walt Disney World specialist on the Disney Parks Moms Panel. But when it comes to cruising with the Mouse, I feel like I am in a whole new world.
We selected a 3 night cruise on the Disney Dream that stops in Nassau, Bahamas and at Disney’s very own private island, Castaway Cay. While I’ve been on other cruise lines and feel comfortable navigating them, there are some differences on the Disney Cruise Line.
The first thing I love is that soda and juice are included. I am a big diet coke drinker and it’s great not having to carry my own 12 pack (ok, let’s be real 24 pack) on the ship with me. Some very dear friends of mine have also shared with me that some character meet and greets work differently than in the parks. I’ve been instructed to head to Guest Services right when I get on the boat and ask if there are any ticketed meet and greets during my sailing. These are free to obtain – but you have to ask. If you don’t have you, you wont be admitted at that particular meet and greet. Yikes!
Other than that, I don’t know what we will encounter – but I am ready to find out. I’ll be sharing pictures and info all weekend on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. So be sure to follow along over there. I’ll also be back right here next week with my trip report and hopefully some tips I learned along the way!
